Learn more about DCP at www.nyc.gov/planning.THE DIVISIONThe new Citywide Address Assignment Team (CAAT) is responsible for supporting all of the official address assignments and verifications to new and existing buildings and other structures across the five boroughs, as well as maintaining a database of all officially assigned addresses for New York City. The division is comprised of a team with specialties in executing address assignment functions such as processing address requests, coordinating with other agencies and external partners, disseminating relevant information to various stakeholders, maintaining digital records for all officially assigned addresses in the five boroughs, and providing customer service support for property owners. This team is responsible for executing these functions and services to ensure accuracy and efficiency in address assignment and verification for buildings and other structures, which is integral to creating an efficient process for residential and commercial construction, infrastructure needs, effective emergency management, and accurate mail delivery services. To Additionally, the team will issue formal notices for non-compliance or misuse of official address assignments.THE ROLEDCP is seeking a detail-oriented Citywide Address Technician for its Citywide Address Assignment Team (CAAT). The Citywide Address Technician role will support the teams work of receiving and processing address requests, disseminating relevant information to various stakeholders, helping constituents, and coordinating with other City agencies and entities. The ideal candidate would be an experienced generalist who is comfortable managing a high volume of address requests from homeowners, local small businesses, and other small to medium developments. Additionally, the Citywide Address Technician will be comfortable providing customer service support to City residents and developers as it relates to their projects. Under supervision, the Citywide Address Technicians primary areas of responsibility will include, but are not limited to:Responsibilities:- Execute address assignment functions where accuracy and attention to detail are central to service delivery;- Provide relevant customer service support to constituents, homeowners, developers, agencies, and other stakeholders; - Research, analyze, validate, correct, maintain and update geographic data files using related spatial data, imagery, and other resources;- Perform quality assurance of data files;- Document and innovate work procedures and methodologies;- Execute geographic processing programs, coordinate data releases, and publish datasets;- Communicate with customer/client/user requests; and- Act as data liaison to other city agenciesTO APPLY:Visit cityjobs.nyc.gov and follow the steps below:1. Requirements

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and six months of satisfactory full-time experience in research which involves gathering, organizing and analyzing data, and report writing; or 2. An associate degree from an accredited college, or completion of 60 semester credits at an accredited college, and two years and six months of satisfactory full-time experience in research which involves gathering, organizing and analyzing data, and report writing; or 3. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and four years and six months of satisfactory full-time experience in research which involves gathering, organizing and analyzing data, and report writing; or 4. Education and experience equivalent to "1", "2", or "3" above. Undergraduate college credit can be substituted for experience on the basis of 30 semester credits from an accredited college for one year of full-time experience. Completion of nine credits, at the college or graduate school level, in statistics, quantitative methods, mathematics, or research can be substituted for six months of the required experience. However, all candidates must possess a four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and at least six months of required experience or the nine specialized credits.
